    • The founder of the Imperial House of Yolak and the first Emperor of the empire, Banfield unified the kingdoms of Yolak under his rule, heralding a new era. His reign is remembered as one of stability and expansion.

  • Adriel Thorren Yolak (Emperor Thorren I)

    • Born: 2 A.B.A
    • Reign: 41 A.B.A – 67 A.B.A
    • Banfield’s firstborn son, Thorren I continued his father’s legacy, strengthening the empire’s infrastructure and expanding its influence.

The Era of Theron and Chrislan I

  • Theron Banfield Yolak (Emperor Theron I)

    • Born: 27 A.B.A
    • Reign: 67 A.B.A – 109 A.B.A
    • Son of Thorren I, Theron I is credited with consolidating the empire’s governance and expanding its cultural institutions.

  • Chrislan Thorren Yolak (Emperor Chrislan I)

    • Born: 55 A.B.A
    • Reign: 109 A.B.A – 115 A.B.A
    • Theron’s son, Chrislan I, died childless after a brief reign. His death marked a turning point as the imperial title passed to the branch of the family governing the Grand Duchy of Diston.

The Rise of the Grand Duchy of Diston

  • Boven Banfield Yolak (Grand Duke of Diston)

    • Born: 7 A.B.A
    • Banfield I’s second son, Boven Banfield, was granted the Kingdom of Diston in 32 A.B.A, which became the Grand Duchy of Diston. The region was given greater autonomy to prevent disputes between Banfield's sons.

  • Boven Banfield II (Grand Duke, later Emperor Boven I)

    • Born: 56 A.B.A
    • Grand Duke: 100 A.B.A – 115 A.B.A
    • Emperor: 115 A.B.A – 122 A.B.A
    • A descendant of Boven Banfield, he inherited the imperial throne after the death of Emperor Chrislan I.

The Reign of Empress Zara Jazzina Yolak

  • Zara Jazzina Yolak (Empress Zara I)
    • Born: 86 A.B.A
    • Reign: 122 A.B.A – 193 A.B.A
    • The first Empress of Yolak, Zara I, was a trailblazer whose reign lasted an unprecedented seventy-one years. She was assassinated in 193 A.B.A at the remarkable age of 107, leaving behind a legacy of prosperity and stability.

The Era of Chrislan II and Banfield II

  • Chrislan Theron Yolak (Emperor Chrislan II)

    • Born: 164 A.B.A
    • Reign: 193 A.B.A – 240 A.B.A
    • Zara’s great-grandson, Chrislan II married into the Grand Ducal line to strengthen ties within the imperial family.

  • Igor Syl Yolak (Emperor Igor I)

    • Born: 195 A.B.A
    • Reign: 240 A.B.A – 242 A.B.A
    • Igor’s reign was tragically short, as he died only two years after ascending the throne.

  • Banfield Hathyn Yolak (Emperor Banfield II)

    • Born: 230 A.B.A
    • Reign: 242 A.B.A – 318 A.B.A
    • Ascending the throne as a child, Banfield II ruled for seventy-six years, becoming one of the most celebrated emperors after Banfield I himself. His long and prosperous reign saw the empire reach its zenith.

The Period of Instability

  • Chrislan Yolak III (Emperor Chrislan III)

    • Born: 278 A.B.A
    • Reign: 318 A.B.A – 323 A.B.A
    • The grandson of Banfield II, Chrislan III faced growing instability after the death of his grandfather. His reign ended tragically when he and his brother, Prince Thorren, were killed in battle during a war in 323 A.B.A.

  • Thorren Yolak (Prince Thorren)

    • Born: 286 A.B.A
    • Thorren was the heir apparent but never ascended the throne, as he died alongside his brother. His daughter, Princess Nèa, was left as the sole heir.

The Regency and [[Empress Nèa]] Yolak

  • Nèa Yolak (Empress Nèa I)
    • Born: 323 A.B.A
    • Reign: 323 A.B.A – Present (367 A.B.A)
    • Crowned as a newborn following the deaths of her father, uncle, and mother, Nèa I has ruled through regencies and personal effort. Now in her mid-40s, she presides over a complex and fragile empire as the story begins.

Grand Duchy Lineage Timeline:

  1. Samira Boven Yolak’s Marriage:

    • Samira Boven Yolak marries Emperor Chrislan II (r. 193–240 A.B.A), uniting the Imperial line and the Grand Duchy line for the first time. After her marriage, governance of the Grand Duchy of Diston remains with her younger brother Grand Duke Sylas Boven Yolak (b. 195 A.B.A).
    • Sylas reigns as Grand Duke until his death in 268 A.B.A at the age of 73.

  2. Garren Sylas Yolak (b. 225 A.B.A):

    • Sylas’s eldest son, Garren Sylas Yolak, becomes Grand Duke after his father’s death in 268 A.B.A.
    • Garren rules with a focus on stabilizing the Grand Duchy’s economy but does not actively engage in Imperial politics. He dies in 300 A.B.A at 75 years old, passing the title to his son.

  3. Theren Alderic Yolak (b. 270 A.B.A):

    • Garren Sylas’s son, Theren Alderic Yolak, becomes Grand Duke in 300 A.B.A. He is a strong supporter of Emperor Banfield Hathyn Yolak (r. 242–318 A.B.A) and maintains strong ties with the Imperial Court.
    • During the instability following Banfield Hathyn’s death, Theren Alderic fortifies the Grand Duchy against opportunistic factions.
    • Theren dies in 328 A.B.A, leaving the Grand Duchy to his son, Alderic Drakon Yolak.

  4. Alderic Drakon Yolak (b. 285 A.B.A):

    • Alderic becomes Grand Duke in 328 A.B.A and presides over a turbulent time in the Empire, marked by the deaths of Emperor Chrislan III, Prince Thorren, and their heirs in 323 A.B.A.
    • He is a distant cousin of Empress Nèa and serves as an informal protector of her claim during her early years.
    • Alderic is known for his ambition but maintains loyalty to the Imperial throne.

  5. The Massacre of 365 A.B.A:

    • In 341 A.B.A, Alderic Drakon Yolak and most of his family are assassinated during an internal coup by a faction aiming to sever the Grand Duchy’s ties to the Empire.
    • The only survivor is Kael Drakon Yolak, Alderic’s youngest son (b. 343 A.B.A). He was spared due to his young age and sent into hiding by loyalists.

  6. Kael Drakon Yolak (b. 343 A.B.A):

    • Kael is only 2 years old when his family is killed. The loyalist faction eventually overthrows the usurpers, and Kael is installed as Grand Duke in 345 A.B.A at the age of 4, with a regency council ruling in his stead.
    • By the time of Empress Nèa’s reign in 367 A.B.A, Kael is 24 years old and has taken full control of the Grand Duchy. His rule is characterized by a mix of youthful ambition and a drive to restore the honor of his family name.
    • Kael’s close connection to Empress Nèa makes him an important ally in the shifting dynamics of the Imperial Court.
